Waiting, longing, looking, searching
living, wishing, hoping, praying
all my life you've been there
without fail, you're always near
love me, hold me, never fail me
you never have, you never will
time is my enemy, let it pass
time is slow, let it go
tumbling, friending, clicking, sending
crying, sleeping, working, pretending
always waiting, I'm holding on
I miss you now and always will
Say you miss me, say you love me
say you'll always want me
send me letters, send me hope
give me something to cling to

Do you offer any author's commentary on the poem? :)
BTW, I love that you didn't always rhyme. That was something my creative writing instructor emphasized: that poems don't have to rhyme. Hehe.
haha, authors commentary; I believe what I was trying to convey was how slowly time passes sometimes and how we try to fill it with so many things while we're waiting. It was written shortly after saying goodbye to my man and I was missing him and wishing time would pass faster, but at the same time I was speaking to God and trying to show that while I'm waiting to be with my man, I have a Father right now, who I can lean into as I wait.
